Some of you may know that I’m also a musician - mainly with The Bigfellas and also Leaders In The Clubhouse. I’m gonna warn you right now, that I slipped 4 songs into this list that I wrote or co-wrote �" and I stand by at least 2 of them being able to go toe-to-toe with the more known songs around them.
As a musician, songwriter and software developer, it’s only natural that I’d eventually put together a playlist of best songs about technology. Voila.
Criteria
Normally I like to make big theme playlists in a round number of 100 songs. But in this case I found that I was hitting the bottom of the barrel around 70 so I made this a Top 60.
The common element here is that the songs be about technology and progress - with some outliers about computers, space, sci-fi or video games. For instance, the David Lowery song "I Sold The Arabs The Moon" might not seems spacy, but it’s a history of which civilization controlled their time because they controlled a technology. And "Pac-Man Fever" speaks for itself.
My other main criteria is that I really had to like the music and think it would be catchy for you too. I didn’t want to search in Google or iTunes for songs with the words "robot technology" or "singularity" in the title or lyrics and include them, regardless of the music.
